Today is high-school post day. I know that.
The thing is, it’s about to get very disorganized around here and I wanted to announce ahead of time that the next couple weeks are due to be pretty quiet.
The reason for this is twofold—first, I’m going out of town to work on the Merry Fates not-an-anthology with Tess and Maggie in an undisclosed location.* Secondly, the trip will immediately be followed by knee surgery.
Which, it’s cool. I’ve had knee surgery before and while I wouldn’t class it as fun, exactly, it’s eminently doable. However, based on my previous experience with the recovery process (specifically Vicodin), even typing out a series of four or five coherent sentences can take about twenty minutes. So, not only will blogging most likely not happen, it absolutely should not happen! I have one more fun thing that I’ll be posting on Monday, and then blog silence for the next two weeks.**
Okay, now I feel like I’ve just spent this whole post talking AT you, declaring things loudly and telling you how it’s going to be.
So hey. Hey, you. What’s up with you guys?
*Otherwise known as Tess’s living room, but it sounds way more glamorous if you imagine us working diligently in a dilapidated fortress. Or a rustic cabin above a fjord. Or anyplace else suitably isolated and weird.
**This might not work. I might disregard my own advice. I might subject you to incoherent post-surgery ramblings. Please, I hope not.
Speedy recovery on the knee surgery. I’m sure your husband will take good care of you!
Best of luck with the anthology. I’m looking forward to it more than any other book this year.
Aw, thanks! And yes, I feel very confident that I’ll be well-taken-care-of, and also that he’ll let me play All The Video Games :D
Let me know if you need me to send you post-surgery care packages—or maybe I will just send one on general principles.
Have fun with the other Merry Sisters!
It turns out that this will be neat, minor, and by the numbers—so, not a big fat production like last time! However, gestures of goodwill are always very much appreciated ♥
Kansas is gorgeous! I went camping there last fall. So many coyotes! I’m sure you’ll be able to imagine some glamour into it.
Best of luck with knee surgery and painkillers. Ask for the good stuff.
I’m really excited—we’re gearing up for the MOST FUN, and then straight into surgery, and what I just keep telling myself will be like a vacation where I can watch hours of TV without feeling like I’m wasting time! (Hopefully. I’ve been known to be neurotically sensitive about wasting time … but still!)
Good luck, and hope you feel better soon!
I am excited to hear that you and the rest of “The Merry Sisters” are working on your ‘not-an-anthology’. I hope all of that goes really well! I also wish you the best of luck with your upcoming knee surgery. I will miss your posts for the next couple of weeks, but I understand why you won’t be blogging very often. Take care and hope to hear from you soon!
P.S. During this time, would you still be willing to sign books, etc if I mail them to you? I have been meaning to do this for awhile..but you know how it goes with the start of a new year!
I should be back to normal very (relatively?) soon, and you are absolutely welcome to send books to have them signed, but just know that I’m not at all optimistic about the number of post office visits I’ll be making in the next couple weeks, so they might wind up sitting in the box for awhile. Which, no harm done, BUT the turnaround will honestly probably be about the same as if you waited, so it’s entirely up to you!
Best of luck with your knee surgery.
Just finished The Space Between it’s sooo good!
Oh, I’m SO glad you liked it!
Oooh, I did actually imagine you three in an enchanted forest with unicorns…Does Tess’s living room have unicorns??? :)
Yuck. I hate surgery. I hope it goes well.
Does Tess’s living room have unicorns???
::Note to self—pack unicorn!::
I am *so* late to the party on this post, but I simply wanted to say that I hope your surgery went off without a hitch and that you are recovering nicely. And with lots of video games. :)
Yes—I’m here! I’m almost back! With a better right knee than I’ve had in months :D
That’s wonderful news for you! (And for those of us who await your upcoming posts with bated breath.) :)
